Patriot Engines Terms and Conditions

PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLATION:

Used Engines

• All used engines are sold as long block engine assemblies.
• A long block is defined as: cylinder heads, engine block, and all internal components. All bolt-on accessories left on the long block are not covered by warranty unless otherwise noted.
• Warranty length is as stated on the Sales Order. Labor is not covered unless explicitly stated on the invoice.
• Some engines require the reuse of parts from your original engine. Labor for these changeover parts is not covered.
• Warranty period begins on the date of purchase.
• Head gasket leaks are not covered on used engines.
• Engines are warranted against: excessive oil consumption, internal part defects, cracks in block or heads, and inadequate oil pressure.
• You must install a new radiator and oil cooler, timing belt, thermostat, oil seals, and gaskets.
• New oil filter and manufacturer-specified oil are required.
• Oil leaks are not guaranteed against.
• Warranty does not cover failure of any accessories transferred from the old engine.
• Buyers are responsible for ensuring all accessories and the transmission are functional before installation.
• Overheating voids all warranties. Shut off the engine immediately if overheating occurs.
• Melted or missing heat tabs void the warranty.
• Receipts required for all warranty claims.

Installation Checklist:

• Confirm compatibility of engine application.
• Clear all diagnostic codes.
• Swap flywheel/bolts if necessary.
• Exchange accessory items as needed.
• Disable fuel/ignition to prime oil system before starting.
• Drain excess fluids from the exhaust system.
• Flush the cooling system.
• Install a new timing belt on belt-drive engines and properly set timing.
• Do not bypass the radiator or run engine without proper cooling.
• Replace oil pan if your existing one is in better condition.
• Use factory-approved parts only. Aftermarket filters/oil may void warranty.
• Save oil change receipts for warranty validation.
• Use new fluids, filter, and gaskets for installation.

Warranty Exclusions (Used Engines)

• Engine accessories including seals, gaskets, belts, flywheel, clutch, coils, thermostat, manifolds, sensors, wiring harnesses, etc.
• Transmission accessories including torque converter, shift linkage, etc.
• Improper installation, misuse, racing, accidents, or negligence.
• Rental/towing/insurance/freight/labor/handling costs.
• Oil leaks or overheating caused by faulty cooling systems.
• Valve damage from incorrect timing setup.
• Any engine where heat tabs are melted or tampered with.
• Dismantled or altered engines.
• Engines reported as incorrect or defective after the warranty period.
• Engines opened or disassembled without written approval.
• Engines returned in different condition than shipped.
• Incidental or consequential damages.
• Returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee and round-trip shipping. Return approval is at Patriot Engines’ sole discretion.

Remanufactured Engines

Warranty terms vary per engine and are stated on your invoice.

You will receive warranty paperwork upon order.

Court Forum Selection and Jurisdiction

Any legal action or proceeding arising from this agreement must be brought exclusively in:

• The 19th Judicial District Court for the Parish of East Baton Rouge, State of Louisiana (East Baton Rouge Parish Courthouse), or
• The United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.

Each party irrevocably agrees to this jurisdiction and waives any objection to venue elsewhere.

Patriot Engines may source engines or transmissions from external vendors to fulfill customer needs.
